Chinese Nanking or Canton blue and white porcelain was a crude and rudimentary porcelain, oftentimes unmarked and first exported in the 1790's by clipper ships to the United States, which continued into the early 20th century. Both the Chinese and Japanese produced inexpensive blue and white porcelain in large quantities for export to Europe and the United States during the 1920's - 1940's.
